About me
I am a mostly retired educator, still teaching at the 55+ program affiliated with UNCW. I am also a mostly retired guitarist/singer/songwriter, although still motivated to connect with other creative musicians. I have been “out” as a gay man since 1974, and have been involved my entire life in supporting others in their quest to discover their true selves. Currently, I lead a gay men’s forum in the Wilmington, NC area, and am part of a grassroots movement to develop programs designed to enlighten and empower LGBTQ+ youth to eventually become happy, personally successful adults. I am currently specifically focused on designing and facilitating a mentorship program for adolescents and young adults in my area. I am looking forward to this conference to engage on a global scale with individuals and groups working to promote human rights for all.
