Mino Likwasi (They/Them) serves as Advisor – Economic Empowerment at Koppa Lab, bringing over a decade of specialized experience in Programme Management and Organization Development focused on LGBTIQ+ communities. They co-founded WAfE, an LBQ-focused NGO in Zambia, demonstrating their commitment to creating locally-led organizations that address the specific needs of lesbian, bisexual, and queer women across the region.
Throughout their career, Likwasi has held strategic roles with prominent international organizations including Hivos, Family Health International, and the Global Interfaith Network, building expertise in cross-cultural program implementation and interfaith advocacy. Their leadership extends to governance roles, including serving as a member of the board of trustees of The Other Foundation, a community foundation dedicated to supporting LGBTIQ+ rights across 13 Southern African countries.
As CEO and Founding Consultant at Athena Consulting, Likwasi has pioneered innovative economic empowerment initiatives spanning mixed agriculture, real estate development, financial services provision, and management consulting. Their client portfolio includes respected organizations such as Aidsfonds, Taboom Media, Kaleidoscope Diversity Trust, and Outright International, reflecting their expertise in developing tailored solutions for diverse organizational needs.
Likwasi's extensive track record includes designing and implementing economic empowerment programs specifically crafted for LGBTIQ+ communities, recognizing how economic justice intersects with broader human rights advocacy. They previously served on Outright International's LBQ Connect Sounding Board, contributing their expertise to global networks supporting lesbian, bisexual, and queer women's organizing.
