About me
Dylan Drobish is the National Director of Trans USA National Pageantry--a registered 501(c)(3) organization that aims to develop visible leaders who serve as positive role models in the transgender, nonbinary, and gender non-conforming community through its national event and yearlong advocacy and community-building efforts.
Prior to assuming his current role with Trans USA, Dylan served as Mr. Trans USA in 2022 and as Operations Manager for the Gay United States Pageantry System. Adjacent to his career at the National Institutes of Health, Dylan has been a nationally accomplished entertainer, public speaker, facilitator, and award-winning producer of large-scale events and programs for the LGBTQ+ community for nearly 18 years. In 2023 alone, Dylan earned five national awards for his administrative work with Trans USA and Gay Capital City United States, was featured as a headlining entertainer at Nashville Pride, and launched his own full-service event design and management company—all while navigating the complexities of multiple chronic health/pain conditions as autistic trans man.
Dylan’s work in the non-profit sector began in 2011 as a co-founder of TransPride Pittsburgh, which now serves community members throughout Western Pennsylvania and includes continuing medical education credits as part of its annual, multi-day conference. For over 10 years, Dylan has facilitated discussions on LGBTQ+ identities and has served as both an advisor and speaker at the corporate and collegiate levels. In his three years with Trans USA, Dylan has helped to build the organization into a captivating, nationwide movement that now holds the largest, trans-exclusive event of its kind worldwide, with 86 representatives qualified for the national event in 2024.
As DC’s first Mx. Capital Pride, his work has also extended to the planning and execution of trans-focused programming during World Pride 2025 in Washington, DC, including multiple events featuring Mr., Miss, and Mx. Trans USA 2025 as they prepare for their major national event here in DC this November.
With nearly 18 years of experience and as many titles in the entertainment industry, Dylan has also performed alongside dozens of Drag Race superstars and the likes of Billy Porter, Ava Max, and more, making a name for himself as one of the few drag kings fortunate enough to have successfully traveled the country (26 states) as a full-time entertainer. His high-energy choreography, elaborate costuming, original concepts, and success as a national event producer and administrator have helped Dylan not only maintain his relevance in an ever-changing drag landscape but have helped to raise the bar for what can be expected when booking masculine-presenting performers.
Beyond the spotlight, Dylan serves in a high-level federal government role as a communications strategist with subject matter expertise at the intersection of science, business, and law.
Crucial to Dylan’s message as a mentor and leader in the community is the concept of “narrative identity”, which refers to the idea that our identities are formed from the internal stories we tell about ourselves (and our interpretation of them). Throughout his work, Dylan’s main goal is to teach young trans people that you are the author of your story—the story that gives your life meaning and purpose—and that you get to take the pen back and choose how it’s told, despite the negative tropes that permeate the news cycle each day.
