My name is Bo Belotti (he/they).
My journey into policy began at 16, advocating for trans student protections in Stafford County, Virginia. Since then, I've been deeply involved in grassroots organizing and legislative advocacy, including co-authoring
HB145at 19 and authoring
HB2602 and
SB1098 in the past two years. I also, throughout undergrad at Virginia Commonwealth University, studied and researched specifically policy making to benefit Southern trans and queer communities. Most recently, I am the Development Manager at HIPS in DC, focusing on harm reduction and LGBTQ+ health equity. I'm passionate about bridging movement work with formal policymaking. I am currently a graduate student at Georgetown University. My goal in achieving an MPP is to turn my advocacy/legislative drafting skills into full time work post graduation.
