About me
Bukola is a first-generation Nigerian-American patent attorney and faith leader who serves as the head of Q Christian Fellowship, a community she joined in 2012 and immediately recognized as a "rainbow-hued oasis that reflects the fullness and diversity of the Gospel." Born and raised in Philadelphia, she brings a unique perspective shaped by her multicultural background and deep Christian faith spanning Baptist, nondenominational, Pentecostal, and Presbyterian traditions.
With advanced degrees in Chemical Engineering from MIT and law from NYU, Bukola combines technical expertise with legal acumen in her professional career as a patent attorney. Throughout her academic journey, she remained actively involved with Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, demonstrating her commitment to faith-based community engagement across diverse educational environments.
As a locally ordained deacon, Bukola's leadership bridges traditional Christian service with progressive inclusion, working to create spaces where LGBTQIA2S+ individuals can experience full acceptance within faith communities. Her approach to ministry emphasizes that denominational distinctions matter less than centering Christ's love and welcome for all people.
Beyond her professional and ministry work, Bukola is known for her hospitality and community-building efforts, frequently hosting travelers, organizing gatherings, and creating connections between people. She enjoys tennis, baking cupcakes, and planning travel adventures while maintaining a vibrant family life in Washington, D.C. with her wife and their two young children.
Through her leadership of Q Christian Fellowship, Bukola continues to advocate for the full inclusion of LGBTQIA2S+ people in Christian communities, demonstrating how faith and identity can coexist authentically while building more welcoming spiritual spaces.
