About me
Richa Tripathi (any/all) is a junior at John F. Kennedy High School in Maryland. Since their freshman year of high school, they have been active in local LGBTQ+ student advocacy as part of the leadership for the student organization, MoCo Pride Youth, and the Director for the LGBTQ+ Inclusivity Committee of the Lynne Harris Student Internship. They have dedicated three years to both organizations. Her advocacy approach centers upon rights and representation: making students aware of the RIGHTS that they have as LGBTQ+ students in public schools, and advocating for the REPRESENTATION of LGBTQ+ people and topics in the school curriculum and teacher training. Some of their past projects have included designing training for public school staff that is inclusive of and respects LGBTQ+ students, spreading positivity in student circles with a nuanced message of queer joy, and leading student involvement in the larger campaign against the removal of books which include LGBTQ+ characters and topics in their county public schools.
