Raina Fox (she/her) is an activist and human rights professional based in Washington, D.C., whose career has been dedicated to advancing LGBTQIA+ rights through both grassroots organizing and international advocacy. With extensive experience spanning direct service, global program management, and coalition building, she has established herself as a bridge-builder between local communities and international human rights frameworks.
Until recently, Fox managed a global LGBTQIA+ emergency assistance program that provided critical support to human rights defenders and civil society organizations facing threats or attacks due to their advocacy for LGBTQIA+ rights. This role positioned her at the forefront of international efforts to protect vulnerable activists while providing immediate assistance to those in crisis situations across diverse global contexts.
Her professional experience encompasses a broad range of human rights work, from providing direct service to HIV+ youth in Washington, D.C., to managing small grants for grassroots activists worldwide. Fox has also designed programs and managed coalitions that bring together grasstops leaders to collectively reimagine approaches to global humanitarian, development, and human rights challenges in ways that actively center the leadership and expertise of human rights defenders and grassroots activists.
