About me

Jaime López Vela is a human rights lawyer, political activist, and current Memberof the Mexican Congress (LXVI Legislature) representing the 4th electoral region.A graduate in Law and Public Administration from UNAM, he has been a keyfigure in advancing the rights of LGBTQ+ communities in Mexico. As a foundingmember of Agenda LGBT A.C., he played a leading role in initiatives such asequal marriage, gender identity recognition, and protocols to preventdiscrimination and violence against LGBTQ+ individuals. His legal advocacy hasshaped major reforms in Mexico, including protocols for justice officials andpolice, protections against conversion efforts, and access to social security forLGBTQ+ families.
