"BLACK LGBTQ+ GLOBAL LEADERSHIP: ADVANCING HUMAN RIGHTS THROUGH INTERSECTIONAL ADVOCACY"
As Black LGBTQ+ people represent the global majority, their voices, experiences, and leadership are essential to advancing human rights worldwide. This dynamic panel will bring together organizers of Black Prides from across the globe—activists, policymakers, and cultural leaders—who are on the front lines of this movement.
Panelists will address:
  • Current landscapes of Black LGBTQ+ rights, highlighting regions where systemic oppression persists
  • Strategies for driving policy reform through grassroots organizing and international advocacy
  • Intersectionality of race, gender identity, and sexual orientation and how these overlapping identities shape access to rights
  • The power of visibility and authentic storytelling in challenging stereotypes and reshaping cultural narratives
  • Health equity approaches to combat disparities in HIV prevention, mental health, and culturally competent care
  • Coalition building techniques to strengthen alliances with other marginalized groups
This global conversation features leaders who are centering Black LGBTQ+ experiences in human rights frameworks while navigating diverse political contexts and cultural realities. Special attention will be given to sustainable movement-building strategies that honor local leadership while fostering international solidarity.
Join us for this essential discussion that offers concrete pathways to support Black LGBTQ+ organizations, advocate for policy reforms, and champion a more just and equitable global society. This panel embodies the conference's commitment to amplifying voices that have been marginalized and creating transformative change through collective action.
